CAPE GATEWAY MOTEL – TERMS & CONDITIONS Please read these terms and conditions carefully.
It is the onus of the guest to carefully check your booking confirmation email once your reservation has been made. This includes the dates booked, the room tariff and the suite booked. The booking confirmation email is sent as soon as your details have been entered into the property management system. Please let us know in the first instance if you do not receive this. If the booking detail is found to be incorrect, please let us know so we can make the necessary adjustments. For all bookings (except for on the day walk ins) there is a 48 hours grace period. The hotel will not issue a refund if it falls outside this period
When you make a booking, you accept on behalf of your entire party the terms of these booking conditions.
BOOKINGS AND QUOTES
Bookings can be made online at www.capegatewaymotel.com.au or by calling the Cape Gateway Motel on 07 4223 1207. Reservations are subject to availability and actual pricing at the time of booking. Verbal quotes are valid for 24 hours only. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only of price, which will be subject to a written advice on confirmation of booking. You agree to pay the rate for each night of your stay and any additional charges up until the time you have departed the accommodation. The accommodation may be occupied by you only for the period stated on the booking confirmation.
PAYMENT POLICY
Reservations are not considered confirmed until a valid credit card is recorded against the booking for the duration of the stay. The Cape Gateway Motel reserves the right to cancel any reservations where credit cards are invalid, declined or deposits have not been paid in accordance with the terms and conditions. Please see below to determine applicable deposit for your booking.
GENERAL BOOKINGS
Full payment is collected 48 hours prior to reservation.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security bond maybe required at time of check-in. Your credit card will be debited in the event of damage to the property, equipment, breakages or if extra cleaning is required. Where a credit card is not available a $200 cash deposit will be required on check-in.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Payments are accepted by credit cards, Visa, MasterCard, or EFTPOS. All payments are only accepted in AUS dollars.
RATES & CHARGES
Rates quoted are in Australian dollars and are subject to change at any time. Rates are inclusive of GST where applicable. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only of price, which will be subject to a written advice on confirmation of the booking. Minimum length of stay restrictions applies to certain rates during special event periods. The price of your accommodation cannot be guaranteed until a deposit is received or a valid credit card is provided at the time of the booking
CANCELLATION TERMS & CHARGES
All cancellation requests must be made in writing and must come from the email that is attached to your booking.
If you cancel your booking prior to 48 hours of your scheduled arrival there will be no charge. Any cancellations received within 48 hours of arrival will incur the first night’s fee and any applicable non-refundable deposit.
Management reserves the right to cancel any reservation when payment has not been received. Applies also to no shows. In the case of no shows, subsequent nights will be charged if reception is not informed of a no show.
Cancellations for group bookings and special event bookings are subject to additional cancellations terms and conditions and can be found under the headings of ‘Group Bookings’ and ‘Special Events’ below.
CHANGES TO THE SERVICE
The Cape Gateway Motel reserves the right to change or modify the booking, products, rates, services, and terms described at any time without notice and without liability.
IDENTIFICATION
A current driver’s license, or passport must be presented upon check in.
GROUP BOOKINGS
A group booking is considered a reservation of three or more rooms. Management reserves the right to cancel any group booking made online without written prior approval. For group bookings a non refundable 10% deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment is due one month prior to arrival date. One-month cancellation policy applies. A full room list is required 48 hours prior to arrival, including full name and mobile number for each guest.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Any room booked during a special event are subject to minimum night stays applicable to that event and are classed as pre-paid bookings ie full non-refundable payment 30 days from date of arrival. No changes or cancellations can be made 30 days prior to arrival. Special events include, but are not limited to School Holidays, Agriculture field days, Christmas, music festivals, rodeos, or any other special/annual event.
CHILDRENS PRICES
Children’s prices for accommodation are included in the standard tariff rates and refer to children using existing bedding. The Cape Gateway Motel does not have cots or roll away beds.
AGE POLICY
Only guests 18 or over are permitted to reserve accommodation. Minors must be always accompanied by an adult.
NUMBER OF GUESTS
At no time during your occupancy is the number of guests staying to exceed the number booked, unless prior approval is sought and given by management. The use of extra beds other than the number booked will attract an additional tariff. Any persons exceeding the maximum occupancy of the property will be considered trespassers and will be evicted.
CHECK IN & CHECK OUT
Standard check in time is 2.00 pm on the day of arrival and the room is to be vacated by 10.00 am on the day of departure. An additional fee may be charged if you do not check out by 10.00 am. Early arrivals and late check outs are at the discretion of Management and must be arranged prior to arrival. Fees apply.
CLEANING
On departure your room is to be left in a clean and tidy state. Extra cleaning charges will apply if this condition is breached and will be deducted from your deposit or credit card.
SMOKING
Smoking is permitted only in the designated areas on the property. Smoking is NOT permitted inside the rooms or in any area adjacent to a room or common area. If there is any evidence of smoking inside rooms, or in the common areas outside the rooms, you will be charged an additional $220 for a specialised clean to eliminate odours.
If the room is not able to be re let due to a lingering smell, you will also be responsible for an additional night as a fee. Staff can direct you to designated smoking areas.
PETS
Pets are not permitted on the property unless approved by management prior to arrival. Pet Policy Terms and Conditions apply and if terms are breached will incur penalty fees and possible eviction.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
You acknowledge that we do not cover your personal belongings under our insurance policy and therefore take no responsibility for any loss or damage of the occupant’s personal property left on the premises and agree that you will not make any claim against us for any damages or loss to your personal belongings regardless of how or where the loss or damage occurred.
LOST PROPERTY
The Cape Gateway Motel is not responsible for any property left by a guest at the premises (Please check all wardrobes and drawers before vacating the property). If items are found after departure, The Cape Gateway Motel will hold the item for two weeks. After this time, items are donated to charity. Guests are to contact reception on 07 4223 1207 or email reception@capegateway.com.au to discuss item pick up. We do not cover the cost of posting items left behind.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We highly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance at time of booking. We suggest that the policy should include, but not be limited to, the reimbursement of any monies paid in the event the travel is cancelled, loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money and medical expenses.
BEHAVIOUR
Parties or gatherings are strictly prohibited unless prior arrangements have been made with Management. Disturbance to other Motel guests and neighbours including noise, excessive drinking or gatherings will not be tolerated and may result in eviction without refund. If a noise complaint is received a first warning will be given, if a second complaint is received this will result in immediate eviction with no refund.
SECURITY AND EVICTIONS
The Cape Gateway Motel reserves the right to enter any guest room in the best interest of the security and/or safety of its guests and employees. The Motel may evict a guest without warning or refund of their stay due to demonstration of, but not limited to the following: Intoxication, antisocial behaviour, physical or verbal abuse to staff and other guests, wilful damage to the room, hotel, and its contents, excessive noise, ignoring the advice or requests of Hotel staff, smoking anywhere other than designated areas of the motel property, or exceeding the maximum number of guests in the room at any time.
BREAKAGES AND DAMAGES
Damages or breakages of furniture or furnishings must be reported to Management immediately. Breakages or damages to the property and all communal or external areas that are caused by any guest and/or a guest’s visitor will be charged and recouped in full from the guest’s credit card or deducted from the guest’s refundable deposit. Excessive cleaning required on departure or replacement of items removed from the accommodation will be charged to the guest’s credit card. Furniture, fixtures, and fittings are not to be altered or moved between rooms or properties. There will be a charge incurred if furniture is not returned to its original location.
LOCKOUTS & LOSS OF KEYS
Loss of keys will incur a $55.00 replacement charge. After hours callouts to allow access will incur a charge of $55.00.
COMMERCIAL USE
No commercial photography or filming is permitted without management approval. The Cape Gateway Motel is open for location hire at request. All enquiries must be submitted in advance to management and terms negotiated prior to arrival.
LIABILITIES
You acknowledge that we do not accept liability for any injury, damage, loss, additional expenses, and disruptions due to electrical storms or other acts of God caused directly or indirectly by events, which are beyond our control and agree not to make any claim in relation thereto.
NO TENANCY
You agree that regardless of your length of stay in there is no tenancy or other rights created under any Landlord and Tenant laws and there are no such laws that apply to your stay.
CHANGES BEYOND OUR CONTROL
Compensation will not apply if a significant change is made for reasons beyond our control. These include war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemics, health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline or alteration of the airline or aircraft type; closed or congested airports or ports, cyclones and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, act of government or public authorities or other circumstances amounting to force majeure and/or Acts of God.
REFUSAL OF ENTRY
Management reserves the right to refuse return guests who have caused damage or disruption to the motel and its guests on a previous stay and/or guests who have been evicted from other accommodation providers for same reasons or criminal behavior.
BREACH OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You agree that, should you or your guests breach any of the terms and conditions:
You will pay to us the total loss or damage that we suffer as a result of that breach and hereby authorize us to debit your credit card or apply your refundable deposit in payment of that loss or damage and we may evict you and your guests without notice
COMPLETING A BOOKING WITH A CREDIT CARD, PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT OR FULL PAYMENT CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
